The 8th International Symposium on Ostracoda was convened on the University of Houston campus by Rosalie F. Maddocks and her team in 1982.The proceedings were published by the Department of Geosciences of the University of Houston as "Applications of Ostracoda," 677 pp. (Rosalie F. Maddocks, ed.) in 1983. The Guidebook of Excursions and Related Papers was published by the Department of Geosciences of the University of Houston as "Texas Ostracoda", 352 pp. (Rosalie F. Maddocks, ed.) for the meeting in 1982.
